Communities

Hampton Roads, Virginia has communities and neighborhoods like no other in the world. The landscape and waterways stretch from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay, through the rivers, beyond the cities, and into rural Virginia. The area once called Tidewater dates back before the English settlers arrived. That history can be seen in the homes, towns, and battlefields throughout the area. There are US military bases throughout the community with all branches represented. This includes the world’s largest naval base Naval Station Norfolk.
